eating at mondo organics restaurant in west end tonight. reading very mixed reviews about the quality of food and service, so i’m interested to see what it’s like for myself.

i’m not really into the whole “organic” thing (as an organic chemist i am always tempted to inform people that all food is technically organic) but i will give it a go, and maybe if i’m sufficiently impressed, i will give organic food a chance.

The rabbit is absolutely sensational. Done-deal.

I’m always tempted to tell the people with the car stickers that read “Fluoride is a poison” that so is oxygen in enough quantity…

While I disagree with most of the policy of the Liberal party, I would have been okay with this man being in charge for a while - if we *had* to have a Liberal P.M.

It concerns me when people beat themselves up over things in order to motivate change. How can you set up a good foundation for doing things differently when it’s motivated by shame and/ or fear? In my observations, people who work this way very rarely work through the problem they’re so concerned with… they just end up compounding it.

Start here: respecting and honouring yourself. Then go somewhere.

This is about $23.5b more than you’ll be giving to CSIRO in the same amount of time.

CSIRO - you know, our national, public science and industry research organisation - the people finding solutions to just a few of the country’s problems, like climate change (mitigation strategies), energy production (to reduce GHG emissions), crop development (to address hunger - don’t worry, this one doesn’t affect us), etc. Nothing big.

Ethics Classes for Children in NSW:

As an alternative to Religious Education classes, Ethics classes will be introduced in Term 2, 2010, in New South Wales.

Interesting article and the program sounds amazing, but the last few paragraphs worry me.

The Uniting Church is calling for an overhaul of special religious education as a result of the trial. Its NSW Moderator, Niall Reid… said religious organisations acknowledged the merit in ethics classes, but “it does not solve the larger problem of how NSW students were learning about their own and other religions”.

A) Who actually learned about “other” religions in their primary schools? Few, if any.

B) I’m confused by these two paragraphs. What, precisely, is the problem?
